As we close the 2024–25 school year, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation to every student, staff member, and family who made this an extraordinary year in the life of our district.  From the first bell in August to the final celebration in June, this year has been filled with meaningful learning, community connection, and a shared commitment to growth.

Our students showed remarkable progress, both academically and socially.  Nearly three-quarters of them demonstrated growth in both English Language Arts and Math on last year’s state assessments with the district projecting even further gains from this year, all an impressive achievement that speaks to the strength of our instruction, the dedication of our staff, and the support of our families.

Attendance improved significantly, with average daily attendance reaching its highest point since 2013.   Even more encouraging, chronic absenteeism dropped sharply, and referrals and suspensions declined as we continued to foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered environment.  Much of this success has been supported by the systems we’ve been putting in place over the past couple years.  We adopted a new schedule and curriculum programs, launched middle school electives, invested in Music and the Arts, hired full-time Math and Literacy Interventionists, incorporated restorative practices, and so on.

We also made tremendous headway in creating spaces where students want to be.  Our facilities saw major improvements, from new playgrounds and upgraded classrooms to expanded security and new outdoor features.  These visible changes are matched by a renewed sense of pride and belonging on campus.

Looking ahead, we are excited to launch even more opportunities for students in the 2025–26 school year. The Opportunity Hub will expand access to electives and introduce high school-level coursework in subjects like Math, Science, and World Languages.  A full-time Physical Education teacher will join our team, helping us provide more structured wellness programs and smoother schedules.  We’re also planning for more seat space in Starter School and expanding after-school opportunities through “Discoveries,” a program that blends fun, creativity, and enrichment into structured sessions after the regular school day.

What we’ve accomplished this year, together, is inspiring.  The growth we’ve seen is not just in test scores or new programs, but in the confidence, curiosity, and joy our students bring to school each day.  Thank you for your continued partnership, your trust, and your belief in what’s possible when a school community works as one.

We can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds.
