Each trimester the students

can register for 2 electives.

History of American Music

Journey through the history of Rock and Roll, Country Music, Blues, and much more. Learn about the change in sound, instruments, and the artist. Most of all, listen to music that can and will change the way you listen to music today.

Study Hall

Study Hall is a quiet place dedicated to giving you time to study and complete classwork. We may be outdoors, weather permitting.

Spades

Spades is a fun, fast paced partner game. Students will grab a partner and learn how to play spades. The last two weeks of the trimester will be a tournament.

World War II Survey

This is a two trimester elective where ww will be doing an overview history of World War II. Trimester one will focus on the build up of the War in Europe and the United States.

Study Hall

Use this time to quietly read, study, or get help with homework.

Artistic Skill Building- Painting

Students will explore watercolor and acrylic painting skills in this elective. Activites will be available for ALL skill levels whether you are new to painting or already have advanced skills. This will be a techinque driven elective with projects focusing on building specific strengths needed to expand your painting skills. 

Chior

Like to sing? Want to learn more about singing? Come join usin choir as we prepare for our America’s Got Talent audition! Okay, so we are not really going on America’s Got Talent, but i’m sure we could with all the talented singers we have at Columbia!We will work together to learn music, play some musical games and learn about meoldy, harmony, rhythem in fun ways! As famous speaker and author Emory Austin said “Some days there won’t be a song in your heart. Sing anyways.”

Girls Circle/ Life Skills

10 young ladies max- Must have parent consent, pick up form from Ms. Tina.

Topics include:

Trust, Social & Emotional Skills, Health & Hygiene, Life Skills, Solidarity and visioning.
