Update:
Our campus will remain closed tomorrow (July 28) at this time due to ongoing wildfire conditions in the county. Please continue to stay safe and follow the guidance of local emergency officials. We are deeply grateful to our firefighters, first responders, and all those working to protect our community.
We will continue to monitor and make a decision about Wednesday, July 29 at some point tomorrow afternoon. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Original Post Below:
Due to the active wildfire in the county and out of an abundance of caution, the school campus is closed effective immediately. Please do not report to or enter the campus until further notice. This means we will not be having Starter School tomorrow (July 27), and we will provide an update about the remainder of the week by the end of the day tomorrow when additional information is available to the district.
We encourage all students, families, and staff to remain safe and follow the guidance of local emergency officials. Additional information regarding school operations will be shared when substantive updates are available and it is appropriate to do so.
If you have an emergency related to the district that you believe we should be made aware of, please contact Dr. Nicolas Wade, Superintendent, at nwade@cusd49.com.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding and please be safe.
